Cookie Butter Oreo

Growing up I was definitely a kid that consumed more peanut butter than I'd ever admit. I was also one that found it extremely hard to resist a good cookie (who am I kidding, I still am this person). Fast forward many years later and picture me in the grocery aisle, spotting cookie butter for the first time. This was one of those moments I wanted to stop, drop to my knees, and sob in pure bliss. Whoever came up with the idea to basically make a cookie "peanut butter" was pure genius, or just super high. The folks at Nabisco must also share the same love for cookie butter because they launched a s cookie in that flavor. I'm not going to lie to you all, I bought two packages as soon as I saw them. If these are as bad as Swedish Fish Oreo I may be inconsolable for awhile.

Taste Test:

Initial Smell: Now I know this won't come as much of a surprise, but I've definitely smelled a couple jars of cookie butter. What, like you haven't? I'm not trying to make it sound like I'm an expert on this smell, but I can tell you right now these cookies give me Trader Joe's cookie butter flashbacks. If these cookies taste as good as they smell, I may be thanking my lucky stars for putting on sweatpants before this taste test. What, like you don't put on sweatpants before you eat Oreo? Oh, you don't...well, in that case neither do I...

Whole Cookie: The cashier at the store said that these tasted like Nutter Butters. This dude clearly has never had cookie butter in his entire life as these couldn't be any further from a Nutter Butter. These taste just like you took a spoonful of cookie butter right from the jar and ate it while nobody was looking. Okay, to be fair I would totally eat it in front of people...but whatever. There is a part of me that wants to go back to the store and force him to consume one of every cookie they sell. I can see it on CNN now "Crazy Cookie Lady Force Feeds Cashier Cookies While Screaming "NUTTER BUTTER!?"".

Half Cookie: Now this is going to sound crazy, but it really needs that  extra wafer. While the flavor isn't bad, it just isn't as heavenly. The cookie to cookie butter ratio is just off and you're left with a sense of guilt for abandoning the other wafer...and end up eating it promptly after so it doesn't feel completely left out. If only I had a jar of cookie butter to use this wafer as a shovel so I could consume way more of that godly paste than ever recommended.

Creme Only: This is easily one of my favorite cremes ever. The little chunks of cookie just reallly make this a unique bite all around and the flavor is to die for. I'm not saying I would sit around in my previously mentioned sweatpants and eat this until I became diabetic (yeah, I would)...but I would definitely put this on something like ice cream (oh my word, this needs to happen).

Overall: This is damn good cookie. I would recommend either eating the whole cookie or going extra crazy and eating just the creme. I mean, you only live once, right? If you sees these, buy buy buy!
